Les Schwab Tires acquires CMC Tire

CMC will continue to operate as an independent business using the CMC Tire brand, under Les Schwab Tires ownership

Bend, Ore.—Les Schwab Tires has acquired commercial tire business CMC Tire, the two companies announced earlier this month. It operates primarily in several Western U.S. states, including Utah, Nevada and Colorado, and specializes in the commercial, mining and construction fields, as well as automotive light-duty service and repair. CMC will continue to operate as an independent business using the CMC Tire brand, under Les Schwab Tires ownership.

Founded in 2014 by Michael Morast and Tommy Servine, it has approximately 200 employees and no changes to staffing are planned at either company following the acquisition.

“After 10 years of successful expansion, the time was right for new ownership,” said Morast in a statement. “With more than 70 years of its own successful growth, Les Schwab Tires has the resources and knowledge to fuel the next stage of growth for CMC.”

CMC’s fleet of more than 70 service trucks covers a 300-mile radius around each store for prompt service. Its retread plant in Hurricane, Utah, produces Continental retreaded tires, and its delivery system sees that casings are picked up, retreaded and returned efficiently.

Les Schwab Tire Centers has more than 8,000 employees and over 541 locations across Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, California, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, Alaska, Minnesota, South Dakota and North Dakota.

About CMC Tire:
